DogTrot achieves a double win at the Wood Design and Building Awards

The Canadian Wood Council (CWC) has announced 38 award-winning projects in the 41st annual Wood Design & Building Awards, celebrating architectural excellence in wood design from Canada and around the world. The awards were presented on September 23, 2025, during the Woodrise Conference in Vancouver. DogTrot Magnetawan won both a Merit Award and a WoodWorks Ontario Distinction.

This year’s program received 140 entries. Of those, 18 were selected by a national jury for Honor, Merit, or Citation status, while 14 additional projects were recognized through the regional WoodWorks Awards categories for Ontario, BC, and the Prairie provinces.

“The diversity and creativity in this year’s winning projects demonstrate how wood can connect people with nature,” said Martin Richard, Vice President of Communications and Market Development at the CWC. “These designs not only showcase wood’s versatility, but also create spaces that enrich daily life and support community well-being.”
