WAF 2025 Honors House of Monitors and DogTrot
Now in its 16th year, the World Architecture Festival (WAF) is the world’s largest festival and live awards competition dedicated to celebrating and sharing architectural excellence from across the globe. It is where the architecture community meets to share expertise and learn from each other and is the only global architecture festival that combines awards, seminars and networking.
At the heart of both WAF and Inside sits a unique live-judged awards programme. It is the only awards where designers pitch their work to a panel of expert judges and their peers – all live at the Festival. In an intimate setting you will be able to watch the presentations from over 500 finalists, hear the judges’ critique and understand the intricate details of some of the best architecture and interior projects in the world today.
DogTrot Magnetawan was honoured in two categories: Completed Buildings: House and Villa Rural/Coastal and Best in Timber. At less than 90sm, it was by far the smallest of the projects in both categories. Its story of the prototype rotating off the edge of the tableland captivated the jury who spoke highly of this innovation and the use of colour in the project.
House of Monitors was honoured in Completed Buildings: House and Villa Urban/Suburban. After presenting, we had so many of the other architects congratulate us on the beauty and complexity of the house. It was apparent that everyone could recognize the care and ambition of this project.
