The South Montrose Site is a 2.2-hectare City-owned property in the heart of the Downtown, envisioned by the Grande Prairie Enhancement Plan to be the centre of a cultural district. The currently vacant South Montrose Site provides Grande Prairie with a unique opportunity to create a major cultural focal point within the City. Williamson Chong Architects worked with prime consultants NAK Design Strategies and Infracor and various sub consultants to design a sustainable and dynamic cultural destination that serves as a downtown focal point and encourages all-season activity for community members. More specifically, our office led the conceptual architectural development of the South Montrose Site Master Plan. Throughout the process, the team has worked with all key stakeholder groups to get their input on what programs, practices and principles will make the South Montrose Site dynamic and unique to Grande Prairie.
